KCPT Daniel Tiger "Be My Neighbor Day"

Last fall, Kids4vets was invited to volunteer at KCPT’s “Daniel Tiger, Be My Neighbor Day”. This annual event takes place at the Anita B. Gorman Nature Center and invites kids of all ages to participate in activities to promote kindness throughout the community. My friends and I ran a booth painting kindness rocks. Kindness rocks are painted with encouraging words and pictures on them. We painted the rocks in honor of local veterans.

After the event we took kindness rocks to Hero’s Homegate, a veteran’s rehabilitation home located in Kansas City, Missouri. The rocks formed beautiful rock gardens, to show our support of our military and their service to our country. A big thanks to the kids4vets volunteers and their amazing families for making the event a success. Please check out this clip of the event provided by KCPT Kids. For more information about how to support Hero’s Homegate, please check out the following link. Lastly, a big “thank you” to KCPT Kids for inviting us to such an amazing event!
